Justin Bieber was born to mother, Patricia Lynn Mallette and father, Jeremy Jack Bieber. Justin's mother got pregnant with him when she was 18 years old and raised him as a single parent with the help of her parents in a low-income housing. Justin's father got married to another woman and had two other children but Justin kept communication with him. Apart from music Justin grew up with an interest in hockey, soccer, and chess. He learned on his own to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet.

In 2007 when Justin was 12 years old, his mom uploaded a video of him on Youtube singing Ne-Yo's song "So Sick" in a local singing competition which he won. More videos of Justin singing various R&B songs were uploaded on Youtube and he soon became very popular on the site.

A former marketing executive of So So Def records, Scooter Braun, discovered Justin Bieber on Youtube by accident while he was searching for different artist . Braun was so impressed by Justin's singing he later tracked down the young singer and got his mother's permission to fly him to  to Atlanta, Georgia, to record demo tapes. Bieber later started working on his debut album and released his first single, "One Time" to radio. The song later reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Demi Lovato was born to parents Patrick Lovato and Dianna Hart de la Garza. Her parents is of Mexican, Irish, and Italian descent. Demi has a sister older than her and a younger half sister. Demi stated she been through painful experience with bullying during the 7th grade in school which she said contributed to her unhealthy eating habit. She said she gave in to unhealthy eating to cope with depression and even once self-mutilated her wrists. Demi later spoke out in many places against bullying including in an appearance on CNN.

Demi began playing piano at the age of seven and also began acting at that same age on the children's television series Barney & Friends as Angela.
