Brief History And Career Beginnings
Demi Moore was born in Roswell, New Mexico to teenage parents Virginia Guynes and Charles Harmon who broke up before she was born. Moore's mother then got married to Dan Guynes, a newspaper advertising salesman who more said is the man she considered to be her father because he raised her. Moore had a few health problems growing up as a child. She was crossed-eyed and also suffered from kidney dysfunction. Two years after Moore's mother left Dan Guynes and moved to West Hollywood, California, he committed suicide.
Moore attended Fairfax High School and her mother worked for a magazine-distribution company. Moore was inspired by a 17 year old actress, who lived with a single mother in the same apartment with her, to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Moore moved out of her mother's home when she was 16 and left high school in her junior year. After meeting and marrying her husband Freddy Moore who was a musician, Moore got into songwriting and appeared in a music video for one of the songs.
Moore made her film debut with a small supporting role in the deaf-teen drama Choices in 1981. Her second film was a science fiction/horror film named Parasite. Following this Moore played roles in a number of other films plus a soap opera but her career really took of when she starred in 'About Last Night'
